What is Project: Arise?

A community server for the Ashes of Creation Alpha-2 client. When the original Alpha-2 servers shut down, the client had nothing to talk to. Project: Arise reimplements the network layer so the client can log in, create a character and enter the world again.

Is it a full game server?

No. It is a wire-format emulator: a C++ server that speaks the client's Unreal network protocol. What works today is on the roadmap.

What do I need to play?

Your own Alpha-2 client, the launcher and a Project: Arise account. The setup guide walks through it.

Do you provide the game client?

No. No game assets are shared, and no Intrepid service is touched. You need your own Alpha-2 install.

Is it affiliated with Intrepid Studios?

No. It is a non-commercial fan project. Ashes of Creation is a trademark of its owner. Nothing here is sold.

Which systems does the launcher run on?

Windows and Linux.

Why do I need an account to download the launcher?

The launcher and the game server use the same account, and the download is only served to signed-in accounts. Register here.

Can I play with other people?

Yes. Several players can be on the same server and play together. It is an early build, so expect rough edges.

What data do you store?

Your username, a hash of your password and your email address. Details are in the privacy policy.

Where do I report bugs or ask questions?

On Discord. The link is on the start page.
